Vodaphone Sure Signal

Great offer what vodaphone has now since a while, and as far i know as only provider for mobile phones; Sure signal.

If you have low coverage at home and if you got a land line with broadband at home you can buy a device which you plug in with your broadband.

Here a before / after picture, before SOS coverage, now 3 bars in the kitchen and 5 next to the device and on the first floor !

The oldest....

I recently saw the Worlds oldest beer,
1000 bottels have been produced by Harrods department store in London out of 5000 year old hops found in an Egyptian Tomb...

Doing beer brewing and wine making i am interested in that kind of stuff...

Anyway, that made me think about the oldest drinks i ever had, and which drink I enjoyed most.

So the oldest Whiskey was 18 years i tasted, the oldest beer maybe a year or so and the oldest Wine 15 years, and thats the one which is best in my memory the Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild 1996

That was a glass of wine, i wont forget for a long while.

Speaking from beer and than of wine, the only remaining question is, what is the better drink ?

Review: Haggis

I was recently in London and had the pleasure to be with a client of mine in a Scottish restaurant. (I didn't know that such a thing exists until than)

I did risk it and ordered in Boisdale thats how the restaurant was called a haggis. For people who might be afraid they wont like it they also serve a mini haggis as a starter.
Thats what i did, and I have to tell you, I didn't regret it.
I will be back and than i go for the main course one.

If anyone is interested what a haggis is made of, you can read it here.
I suggest however to try one first, and than read what it is made of.

Enjoy
The Boisdale of Bishopsgate got 5 stars from me for that great meal I had there.

A Sun(ny)day in ?

Since the Sun(ny) days in West Cork go towards a end, winter is coming quick and there is not as much sun than during the year, I decided to change my Sunday topic a bit, and make a quiz out of it.

To have sun feelings I will display here over the coming weeks picture I took this year at sunny places.
If you guess correctly where the picture was taken i will send you a little gift from Ireland.

lets start, A sunny day in:

Cought a cod

That specimen of cod was a pretty nice catch, the weekend before last.

Making fish and chips out of that can take some time, its weight was 7 kg....

If you want to learn more about the Cod, here a link:

Making Marmelade the French way

Well, I actually do not know if there is a official French way, however I learned how to make this marmalade in France and therefor i call it the French way.

Its very simple, first put some glasses in the oven at 200 degree for 30 Minutes, this sterilizes them.

After, and thats the hard part, get some fruits.
In this case i had figs, they are simple, you just chop them small. Fruits without cores are the easiest to process.

Than put all in a bowl, with twice as much sugar than fruits, mix well and let it rest overnight.

After that bring it to boil for 3 minutes, add a bit of water if necessary. Than take a bit on a plate and put it in the fridge for 3 minutes.
Check the consistency and if you like the result, make the glasses full and seal them.
Than put the glasses into boiling water for 15 minutes this sterilization kills all germs and your Marmalade is than ready.

Once opened keep it cool and check regularly if its still good.
Enjoy
