Time change this weekend

Many people seem to have Issues each year with the time change,
therefore I help you now, next Sunday we switch back !

Ireland/UK:

When local daylight time is about to reach
Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 2:00:00 AM clocks are turned backward 1 hour to
Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 1:00:00 AM local standard time instead

There will be a week until 4th of November where the time difference will be 6 hours between the US East coast and Europe, rather than 5 hours normally.

US:

When local daylight time is about to reach
Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 2:00:00 AM clocks are turned backward 1 hour to
Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 1:00:00 AM local standard time instead

Most people have phones and computers who automatically switch over,
but I for Example need to change manually the following. Kitchen Clock, Oven Clock, Microwave Clock, Car Clocks and my Watch. Happy Changing !

Android App - Pageviews

After a while of posting here regular its time to make a little review.
A interesting note is, from this thousands of page views every month currently 60% are from android devices.
I believe this high number just shows the trend towards android devices, this is why I also have my own dedicated Android app.
You can download it here

The most favorite Recipe seems to be the Kaiserschmarrn, followed by the Kasnocken. So thank you to my readers that you like myfoodfromhome !

BTW, I am still looking for guest bloggers on the topics Cooking, DIY, Fishing or Gardening since I will be on summer holiday soon and dont want to let my readers without their regular dose of Clonlin....

Beer Bike

Its weekend and I would love to ride with my friends on a bike like that.

I spotted that bike in Hamburg, It got a beer barrel on it an the gentleman mostly who rent that bike can drive along the river Alster and have a beer while on the ride.

Good for Stag parties I guess.

Enjoy the weekend !

Create your own beer labels

You might know that i love to brew my own beer now I found the perfect website on which i can easily create my own beer label without much hassle in a few clicks.
www.labeley.com  provides that service, and i wonder how long it takes until they might also provide the same service for wine ?

Thats the label I designed now for my own beer.

Vodaphone Sure Signal

Great offer what vodaphone has now since a while, and as far i know as only provider for mobile phones; Sure signal.

If you have low coverage at home and if you got a land line with broadband at home you can buy a device which you plug in with your broadband.

Here a before / after picture, before SOS coverage, now 3 bars in the kitchen and 5 next to the device and on the first floor !

Future of facebook

I was pretty annoyed the recent days that everybody complained on face book about the changes they introduced. And yet the biggest change was not yet released. a new profile called time line. I checked out the developer preview and have to say it doest look to bad for me.

I just wonder how many more people will complain once this is rolled out to all ?

Holiday Checklist

I have previous published a camping checklist
which i was told from friends was useful for them.

Now, well might be a bit late for some people, but if you are just going on holiday, here a great checklist.

I also use that list for business travel since the main things to check are the same.

Also noteworthy are import rules:

Alcohol and tobacco allowances for travellers to Ireland from EU
Maximum quantity allowed
Cigarettes
Cigarillos
Cigars
Smoking tobacco
Spirits (whiskey, vodka, gin, etc.)
Intermediate Products (e.g. sherry, port, etc., excluding sparkling wine)
Wine (only 60 litres of sparkling wine allowed)
Beer
800
400
200
1 kg
10 litres
20 litres
90 litres
110 litres
You are not entitled to alcohol or tobacco allowances if you are aged under 17 years.
You should keep any receipts as proof that you have paid duty and VAT.

Super value @ SuperValue

Somebody might think i get paid for this post, nope I don't. But I thought since I reported earlier this year about my great local butcher, its just fair to mention a supermarket I like to go shopping to as well.

Look at this picture, they got a nice offer recently, 7,50 Euro for that much meat, isnt that great ?
And since we are 2 people at home, we can actually eat 4 times. (2x dinner and than lunch for work)

Considering that the cabbage was growing in my own garden, we spend less than 2 Euro for each meal.
Thats half the price than i would pay for a sandwich at work, isn't that great value ?

Not just that, its pretty tasty this Irish Cuisine !

You are as old as you feel

Thats something we hear often, but really good illustrated i have never seen that saying. Until now. Through a friend on G+ I found the website of Photographer Tom Hussey.

Its amazing how he portraits the people looking at themselves in a mirror, and see a younger picture of them.

I wonder if i really might see that once myself when i am older ?

Good news from Ireland

Well at least for all German speakers, Harald is back with his blog which is written in German and comes out of the heart of Ireland.

I think i have followed now Harald's posts since nearly 2 years and was kind of shocked when he announced earlier this year to stop with his blog.

Today the good news, my fellow Austrian is back on line and starts again with his blog @ http://irlandlive.com

Good News ! Harald I have missed you too !
