My brother in law thought me this BBQ recipe which can be very funny and suprising for your BBQ guests.
French love cheese, and they always have a little cheese after dinner.
How it works:
Buy a Camembert Cheese in a wooden wrapping, remove any plastic and wrap the cheese in aluminium foil,
after place it back into the wooden package.
After the BBQ just throw it into the coal and wait until all the wood packaging is burned away, than your cheese is ready.
Your guests will think you are mad, since they didnt see the preparation with the foil.
Once you unwrap the cheese its melted and you can use it as a cheesy dip with bread.
bon appetit !

Finally, the family tent is in action and I am pretty happy with my new camping gear !
Its great to be out in the nature, but with some comfort and proper protection against any type of weather.
I will make on my next trip more detailed pictures of the gear and show you what you need to have a good trip too !

First Camping Incident - one lesson learned
Yes, there was something wrong, I didn't had the regulator on 0, therefore that locking mechanism wouldn't allow me to engage the can of gas. When I saw it, and fixed it on 0 all went down as it should.
The little scratch there is already healing fine, so dont Worry, be happy !

Ready for Camping - the new Family tent
My daughter Sophie gets bigger, and we also have the need for a bigger tent.
I made myself a early Bday present and bought a Vango Icarus 500. Watch a video here
I recommend to all not to buy a tent on-line, go to a shop, for example the one in Cork on MCCurtain street. (outdoor leisure) The service in store, and the option to walk into the tent and get expert advise is very important I believe when buying a tent.Other gimmicks of course you still can buy on-line.
So last Sunday I checked it out, it took me 10 Minutes to put it up alone. The tent is stored very compact, so I can fit all very easy in my car.

I cant wait to report to you my experience after the first camping trip with it ! Stay tuned, if the weather is good i might be able to go soon !

Holiday Greetings !
The next week or so you wont hear from me, no recipes, no reviews. Look at the picture, I am back home, hiking in the mountains, swimming in the lakes, but most important tasting Austrian Food !
Do not worry, I will bring some souvenirs back from you. And I will continue at this place end of June !
(Ps.: If someone thinks now, great, lets rob his place, good luck. Got a house sitter, my neighbour is a Gard (Policemen), and the farmer across the road is retired and got plenty of time how to shoot with his riffle. But first and foremost, there is nothing to gain, I got my treasures with me !

Camping Equiptment
Its interesting, I just compared the offerings from Argos, with the offers Outdoor specialists have, and also checked in town in the local tackle shop.
Well, the result is not surprising Argos is on that Camping Gaz cooker cheaper. 2 Euros.
But than, with Argos i need to collect the item in Cork, i dont get a huge other selection of camping equipment, and also there is no expert to ask.
So i believe I rather shop locally than, or if the local shop doesnt have what i need shop online from a Outdoor specialist.

Camping Tips and checklist
I recently went camping and I can tell you, I even forgot the sleepingbag. Thats why I made now following camping checklist for the next trip.
A few more things to note:
If you go with a new tent, or new equipment, make sure you have tested it at home, so that you won’t have surprises on your trip, f.e. a tent you cant put up because something is broken..
Make sure you position your tent as far as possible from the one friend you think he might snore, or have enough to drink with you so you wont care.
If you think it might be raining, it makes sense to have a waterproof tent, to test this use your garden hose to simulate rain, or just put it up a weekend in your garden (that works in Ireland)
Last but not least, have fun going back to nature, bring no electronics (maybe a camera) or other technical stuff (radio, phones) with you.
Camping is for Campers, not for Tech Geeks. Bring along some UNO cards and good friends,
you will have fun, thats for sure !
